Family

Sunday was Mr. Red Molly's birthday and we celebrated with our son home from Jersey City. We had a nice birthday gathering and I made Paella, Greek Salad and Anchovy Crust for the four of us, Mr. Red Molly's mother and my daughter's boyfriend. Plus a friend that showed up a little after dinner. He got to eat the dregs but it was still good. For dessert I made the Pear Cake again and I can't say enough about how much we all like that dessert. I made Buttermilk Sorbet to go with the cake but wasn't really crazy about the sorbet. My kids really like the Anchovy Crust. You would think they were eating candy they kept saying pass the Anchovy Crust. It's made with salted anchovies, garlic, fresh herbs and olive oil mixed up in a food processor and then it is spread on a French baguette and you let it set for about 4 hours and then it is grilled. Yum!!!

It was good to have my son home. The last time he was here was at Thanksgiving. I had to take him to an acute care center on Tuesday because 3months ago he punctured his foot with a very large splinter from his floor. To make a long story short it was very much infected even though he had gone to the ER when it happened and they took 3 x-rays and apparently only removed part of the splinter. The Dr. at the acute care center had to make a small incision on the bottom of his foot (ouch) and remove a piece of wood about an inch long and as thick as two toothpicks. Other than that things went very well and we all had a good time while my son was visiting.

Here are a some photos: The first photo is my son and daughter taken right after my son test drove my daughter's new ride. The second photo is Mr. Red Molly test driving my son's new ride. My son had a friend put together a bicycle for him which he had to ship back home. The third photo is Mr. Red Molly unwrapping his new camera we got him for his birthday.
