Dickin' with Delta, setting off alarms...
Oh, what a beautiful morning!! After sleeping less that one hour last night I got out of bed about 5:00 this morning. As you know we are planning to travel to France next week and Mr. Red Molly was already up trying to see about changing our train supplements to another time and at that time we found out the France Rail system is going on strike on the day that we are planning to arrive in Europe. We were then trying to come up with plan B which resulted in several different scenarios that neither of us were too keen on. What we ended up with was trying to get to Paris a day early with the hopes of getting to our first destination of Lyon, France before the strike. I got on the phone to Delta and had a relatively decent flight schedule to Paris via Atlanta, via JFK to Paris offered to me. As we were trying to make the decision to except the flight Mr. Red Molly decided to first make a phone call to his boss to make sure it was ok for him to leave a day early. While I ask the Delta rep to hold for just a minute Mr. Red Molly went outside to make the phone call on his cell phone and tripped our home alarm. That caused the phones to go dead. When the phone service came back I called Delta again and the flight that was just offered was no longer available but we did get booked on a flight that gets us to Paris a little later in the morning. Then Mr. Red Molly had somewhat of a fiasco getting rail supplements to accommodate our new schedule. We are definitely going to be ready for a vacation. And of course we are hoping the strike will only last a day or two. Wish us luck.
