Another Simple Dinner

Mr. Red Molly and I ended the work week with a dinner of Moules et Frites. This is one of the easiest dinner that you can put on the table. We were having stormy weather today...you know, overcast, wind, rain all of that wonderful stuff which really puts me in a cooking mood and I thought the Mussels and French fries would be perfect for the for a dark and stormy night.

The mussels recipe is very easy. All you do is sauté some shallots, garlic and celery for a few minutes throw in your scrubbed and debearded mussels along with a sliced lemon and about 1 cup of white wine or dry vermouth or anything close to that. Let that cook for about 8 minutes. Take out the mussels put them in the serving bowls and boil the liquid for a couple of minutes and pour over the mussels. Serve with French bread that has been slathered with olive oil and toasted, cook some frozen French fries (I really like the Cascadian brand), make a salad and open a bottle of wine and Bon Appétit!
